Totally valid. But there have always been those who have spoken up. And if anything, those only now aware need to listen more, not condemn, especially if they’re not accurate about what they’re condemning.

It’s a way to distance themselves from racism yet again, because they don’t have to confront their own. Listening and learning does much more to stop actual racism than calling a racist a racist, but not to their face.

Like, they’re talking to themselves, other liberals, or POC instead of confronting those doing harm. Instead of learning about how racism IS the status quo, normal. Instead of directly supporting folks like me who are doing the work of dismantling the shit.
